AKA “That poem from Four Weddings and A Funeral”. I was watching it on the telly awhile ago and cried again when the poem was recited.

Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.

Dark Cabaret

Cabaret has been in existence since the turn of the 20th century. It was clumped together with Burlesque and Vaudeville which were notorious for being risque back then. Sadly, these forms of musical entertainment died down when the world wars ended.
